Overview

Seminara uses an integrated billing engine to manage subscriptions securely. Your quota is determined by your active plan, which governs how many active decks you can host simultaneously, how many concurrent live rooms you can stream, your total monthly presentation minute pool, presentation storage, and API access. Rehearsals in Sandbox Mode or with ?test=true are 100% free and consume zero presentation minutes across all tiers.

1. The Preview (Free)

The Trial Plan is designed to help you validate your presentation deck, rehearse with Aura, and test audience interactivity before committing to a paid tier.

Overrun Buffer & Quota Policies

What is the Overrun Buffer?

Paid plans (Core Host and Hosting Fleet) include a 15% Overrun Buffer on presentation minutes. If your session is scheduled for 30 minutes, Aura will continue fielding questions up to the grace allowance (e.g., 34.5 minutes) without cutting off attendees mid-sentence.

Quota Enforcement (HTTP 402)

• If your monthly session quota or minute pool is 100% exhausted, session creation and live room starts return HTTP 402 Payment Required.
• You can instantly upgrade your tier from the Host Dashboard or via the Developer API to unblock session creation.

Annual Billing Discount (10% Off)

Switching from monthly to annual billing saves 10% across all paid plans:

• Core Host Annual: $179 / month (billed $2,148 annually) (saves $240/year).
• Hosting Fleet Annual: $449 / month (billed $5,388 annually) (saves $600/year).

Q: What happens if I hit my session or minute limit on the The Preview?

A: When your 2 live sessions or 70-minute pool is exhausted, session creation is paused until your next monthly billing cycle or until you upgrade to a paid tier.

Q: Are payments secure?

A: Yes. All payments and subscriptions are processed securely through our payment gateway (Merchant of Record). Seminara never stores credit card details on internal servers.

Q: Can I upgrade or downgrade mid-cycle?

A: Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

Q: Do unused session quotas roll over?

A: No. Session and minute quotas reset at the beginning of each billing cycle to ensure dedicated real-time audio bandwidth on our WebRTC infrastructure.
