Editing the Outline

How to refine the AI-generated talking points before testing.

After you upload your slides, Seminara's AI automatically generates an Outline (a set of core talking points) for each slide. While the AI is highly capable of extracting the main ideas, human review ensures the focus perfectly matches your strategic goals.

How to Review and Edit

  1. Navigate to the Session Setup page for your newly created session.
  2. You will see a list of your slides alongside the generated text boxes.
  3. Click into the text box next to any slide to edit the Outline/Talking Points.

Outline Optimization Tips

  • Focus on the "What", not the "How": The outline is not a word-for-word script. It is a set of instructions for Aura. Write down the core concepts you want her to cover, and she will handle turning them into a natural, conversational delivery.
  • Add Strategic Pivots: If a slide has a lot of data, use the outline to tell Aura which specific data point to focus on (e.g., "Emphasize the 40% growth metric here").
  • Handling Complex Jargon: If your slide has complex jargon, use the outline to instruct Aura on how to explain it simply to the audience.

Modifying the Actual Script (The Words Aura Says)

You cannot manually type out the exact words Aura will speak in the setup wizard. We restrict this because handwritten scripts sound robotic when fed to AI voice models.

Instead, Seminara uses a dynamic optimization loop:

  1. Finish editing your outline.
  2. Launch a Test Session.
  3. Listen to how Aura naturally interprets your outline.
  4. At the end of the test, use the Feedback Modal to tell the AI what needs to change.

(For full details on this process, read the Test Session Feedback guide.)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Can I edit the outline after the session goes live?

A: Yes, you can pause or archive a session, edit the outline, and resume it. However, the new outline will only apply to attendees who join after the change is saved.

Q: How granular should my outline be?

A: We recommend keeping outline points concise (1-2 sentences). Aura performs best when given core talking points to elaborate on naturally, rather than reading a rigid script word-for-word.

Q: Can I reorder the outline independently of the slides?

A: No, the outline is inherently tied to the slide order. If you want to change the flow, you must reorder the underlying PDF slides and re-upload the deck.
