If you are experiencing issues during a session, follow these steps to resolve them quickly.
Aura Can't Hear You
If you ask a question but Aura continues talking or doesn't respond, the issue is likely your microphone permissions.
- Chrome: Click the "lock" icon next to the URL in the address bar. Ensure the Microphone toggle is set to "Allow". Refresh the page.
- Safari: Go to Settings -> Websites -> Microphone, and ensure seminara.online is set to "Allow".
You Can't Hear Aura
If you see the slides progressing and Aura's speaking indicator flashing, but you hear no sound:
- Ensure your device's volume is turned up.
- Check if your browser tab is muted (look for a speaker icon with a slash on the tab).
- In some strict corporate networks, WebRTC audio may be blocked. Try disconnecting from the VPN.
Connection Drops
Seminara uses real-time WebSocket and WebRTC connections. If your internet briefly drops, the UI will display a "Reconnecting..." banner.
- Do not close the tab. The system will attempt to auto-reconnect.
- If it fails after 10 seconds, simply refresh the page. You will rejoin the session, and Aura will acknowledge your return.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: I accidentally closed the tab. Can I get back in?
A: Yes. Just click the original join link again. Depending on the host's settings, you may resume where you left off or start fresh.
Q: Why is there an echo when I speak?
A: This usually happens if you are using speakers instead of headphones at a high volume. Aura's audio feeds back into your microphone. Please lower your volume or switch to headphones.
Q: My company firewall blocks WebRTC. What should I do?
A: Contact your IT department to whitelist stun.l.google.com and ensure UDP ports 10000-60000 are open for WebRTC media traffic, which is required for Seminara's low-latency audio.
Q: Aura keeps interrupting me before I finish my question. How do I fix this?
A: You might be taking long pauses while speaking. If you need time to formulate your question, use the Chat Interface to type it out instead, ensuring Aura receives the complete thought.
